Heritage Navajo "Yatahei" Dragonfly Cross Necklace on Hand-Domed Dime Beads

$5,805.21 NZD

This museum-quality piece is a profound example of early Navajo and Pueblo "coin silver" influence. The necklace features ten graduated Dragonfly Crosses, a traditional motif that predates European contact and symbolizes water, life, and the coming of the rains. Each cross is meticulously hand-stamped with geometric patterns and set with two petite turquoise cabochons, terminating in a delicate heart-shaped "breathing" motif.

The centerpiece is a large, hand-forged Isleta-style double-bar cross, representing the fusion of Indigenous and Spanish colonial aesthetics. In keeping with the historic theme, the entire necklace is strung on hand-domed "Dime Beads", created by soldering two authentic silver dimes together to form a seamless, hollow sphere. This heavy-gauge, collectible piece carries significant cultural weight and artistic history.
